Brasil FC: The Final Rose โ€” Carlo Ancelotti's 2026 World Cup Elimination Ceremony

๐ŸŒน 26 roses. One Carlo Ancelotti in a tuxedo. Neymar gets the final one โ€” to the sound of hundreds of fans screaming outside the Museum of Tomorrow. Chelsea's Player of the Year (Joao Pedro) sits in the elimination chair. Estevรฃo is 18 and will be fine. This is Brazil's 2026 World Cup squad, rewritten as a reality show rose ceremony.

BRASIL FC: THE FINAL ROSE โ€” SEASON 2026 A Carlo Ancelotti Production. 26 roses. 40+ contestants. One chance at football's greatest prize. Filmed on location at the Museu do Amanhรฃ, Rio de Janeiro. This program contains scenes of extreme squad selection drama.

Pre-show: the host steps forward

He is 66 years old. He has won the Champions League five times. He has managed Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, AC Milan, Everton, Napoli, and Paris Saint-Germain. He has never coached a national team before in his life.
Carlo Ancelotti takes the microphone. The crowd outside the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio is enormous. Someone in it is holding a banner that reads: BRING BACK NEYMAR. Several hundred people have been standing here since midnight.
"I have 26 roses," Ancelotti says. "Only 26."
He pauses.
"I feel very sorry for the players who are not in the squad."
The roses, in this metaphor, are yellow and green.

The ceremony begins: goalkeepers

Alisson Becker โ€” Liverpool, 33 โ€” steps forward and accepts his rose without ceremony. He has done this before. He radiates "been here three times, won't embarrass anyone" energy. He is handed the rose like a partner receiving car keys at valet โ€” expected, efficient, done.
ร‰derson โ€” Fenerbahรงe, 31 โ€” nods, collects his rose. The Brazilian Premier League of goalkeepers has two obvious picks and then everybody else.
Weverton โ€” Grรชmio, 37 โ€” receives the third and final goalkeeper rose. He is the backup's backup. His rose is slightly wilted. He accepts it with the dignity of a man who has made peace with all outcomes. 1
Three roses gone. Twenty-three remain.

The defenders file in

The defenders walk down the aisle in a tight formation. You could play a Champions League final with them. You could also field a decent Flamengo B team.
Marquinhos โ€” PSG, 30 โ€” has been here so many times that the production crew just hands him his rose before he reaches the podium. He is the most professional person in this building. He does not smile. He tucks the rose into his captain's armband.
Gabriel Magalhรฃes โ€” Arsenal, 26 โ€” receives his rose and immediately starts organizing the other defenders into a back four formation. Nobody asked him to. He does it anyway.
Bremer โ€” Juventus, 27 โ€” gets a rose. Then quietly reminds the producers he was injured for eleven months and they still kept him in the cast. He has the air of a man who learned everything the hard way and feels this should count for something.
Danilo โ€” Flamengo, 34 โ€” accepts his rose looking slightly surprised. Then not surprised at all. He has been in every Brazil squad for a decade. He could show up in slippers and probably still get one.
Alex Sandro โ€” Flamengo, 33 โ€” gets a rose and immediately gives a speech about legacy. Nobody is entirely sure when he stops speaking. He is still speaking. The production has moved on.
Leo Pereira โ€” Flamengo, 28 โ€” receives his with quiet confidence.
Wesley (Franca) โ€” AS Roma, 23 โ€” the youngest defender, accepts his rose wide-eyed. He is not entirely sure this is happening. It is happening.
Roger Ibaรฑez โ€” Al Ahli, 26 โ€” picks up his rose. It has a small tag on it that says "depth."
Douglas Santos โ€” Zenit St. Petersburg, 29 โ€” gets the final defender rose. He looks around the room as if checking whether there's been a mistake. There has not. 2

A brief interlude: the contestants who did not make it

The producers cut to a slow-motion montage of the eliminated. A piano cover of something unidentifiable plays softly.
ร‰der Militรฃo โ€” torn ACL. His rose sits on an empty chair. The camera lingers. 3
Rodrygo โ€” also torn ACL, March 2026. Two Real Madrid right wingers eliminated by the same injury in the same squad. The producers consider this "too on the nose" for a drama series. It is not. It happened. 3
Joao Pedro โ€” Chelsea's Player of the Year, 2025-26, a man who scored regularly in the Premier League all season and watched his award ceremony with the dawning awareness that none of it would matter. He sits in the elimination chair. The camera does not look away. Ancelotti's production note: "I feel very sorry." 4
Richarlison โ€” no rose. Also no explanation that satisfies anyone.
Gabriel Jesus โ€” no rose.
Antony โ€” no rose. Perhaps relieved.
Estevรฃo โ€” 18 years old, the subject of a โ‚ฌ61 million Chelsea transfer, genuinely one of the best young players on Earth โ€” and not in the squad. The piano intensifies. 5

The camera returns to the ceremony.

The midfielders

A nation that has produced more elite midfielders per capita than any other sends five to this World Cup. Only five. The competition was biblical.
Bruno Guimarรฃes โ€” Newcastle United, 26 โ€” takes his rose like a man who expected it and would have been furious if it wasn't there. He is correct on both counts.
Casemiro โ€” Manchester United, 34 โ€” accepts his rose. There is a small debate about whether he still deserves it. The debate ends when everyone remembers how midfields collapse without him.
Fabinho โ€” Al Ittihad, 30 โ€” Saudi-based, occasionally criticized, definitely here. He and Casemiro exchange the look of two men who have weathered this conversation before.
Lucas Paquetรก โ€” Flamengo, 27 โ€” back home after a complicated spell in Europe, back in the squad, rose in hand. His story is one of the quietly remarkable ones in this cast.
Danilo Santos โ€” Botafogo, 23 โ€” the youngest midfielder, gets his rose with the composure of someone who does not yet fully grasp the scale of what just happened to him. He will.

The forwards: and then there is the moment

Eight forwards will share nine roses. Most of this section is straightforward.
Vinรญcius Jรบnior โ€” Real Madrid, 25 โ€” gets the first forward rose. He does not wait to be called. The camera crew scrambles. He has already picked it up. He is, simply, the best player in this squad and possibly on this planet and he conducts himself accordingly.
Raphinha โ€” Barcelona, 28 โ€” rose. The man delivered all season and arrives in the kind of form that makes squad selection discussions feel like they're about someone else.
Gabriel Martinelli โ€” Arsenal, 23 โ€” rose. Solid, dependable, the kind of player who doesn't generate drama at these ceremonies. He is fine. He is in.
Matheus Cunha โ€” Manchester United, 25 โ€” rose. He had a remarkable Premier League season. He is here.
Igor Thiago โ€” Brentford, 23 โ€” rose. Young, promising, picked.
Rayan โ€” AFC Bournemouth, 18 โ€” rose. The teenager. The producers love a teenager storyline.
Luiz Henrique โ€” Zenit St. Petersburg, 24 โ€” rose. International football travels increasingly strange routes these days.
Endrick โ€” Lyon, 18 โ€” rose. His rose is slightly larger than everyone else's. Nobody says this out loud. 1
Eight roses given. One remains.
The music changes.

The final rose

The room holds its breath. The crowd outside โ€” the hundreds who have been there since midnight, the banner-holders, the ones who cried during the 2023 Copa Amรฉrica โ€” they know what's coming. Somehow they know.
Ancelotti picks up the last rose.
He clears his throat.
Outside, someone starts a chant.
"We have been evaluating him throughout the year," Ancelotti says. "He has been playing consistently recently and his physical condition has improved." 6
Then, before he can finish the sentence:
Neymar Jr. โ€” Santos, 34 โ€” steps forward.
The crowd outside the museum erupts. Hundreds of fans erupt into the kind of noise that crosses several city blocks. It is 2026. He has not played for Brazil since October 2023. He tore his ACL. He went to Saudi Arabia. He was unavailable for most of qualifying. Al-Hilal refused to register him because he didn't pass the medical. He came home to Santos and scored four goals in the Brazilian league, which felt like both a comeback and a question mark in equal measure. 4
He accepts the rose.
He is 34 years old. This is his fourth World Cup. It is almost certainly his last.
์ฝ˜ํ…์ธ  ์นด๋“œ๋ฅผ ๋ถˆ๋Ÿฌ์˜ค๋Š” ์ค‘โ€ฆ
Ancelotti's production note for posterity: "He has the same role and responsibilities as everyone else. He has to earn his place in training."

After the final rose

The ceremony ends. The confetti falls โ€” yellow and green confetti, naturally. The eliminated contestants sit quietly in their chairs. Somewhere across the city, Estevรฃo is probably fine. He is 18 and will be at the 2030 World Cup and probably three after that.
But tonight belongs to the 26 who got a rose.
And to one man in particular who accepted his in front of a crowd that has never stopped believing he could make it back, from an Italian coach who described the decision as an act of faith, under lights that make everything look more dramatic than it probably is.
The next rose ceremony begins June 11. Group C. Morocco first.
There are 26 spots on this team.
Still only 26.
